The Leek features the patented Kershaw Ken Onion Speed-Safe assisted-opening mechanism. This proprietary technology enables the knife user to open the knife with one hand. A short push on the thumb stud moves the blade into position smoothly and easily. It then locks into place for safe, secure use.

Each Kershaw Ken Onion Leek features a stainless steel pocket clip, ambidextrous thumbstuds and a "flipper" to open the knife using the Speak-Safe action. The flipper doubles as an integral guard to protect the users hands from slipping up on the blade.
