Kershaw 1840ST Shallot
The shallot onion is one of the world's favorite ways to spice up a cuisine. And the all-stainless-steel Kershaw Shallot, designed by Ken Onion, is destined to be your new favorite way to spice up your knife collection.
For this one, we've peeled away the layers, leaving nothing but superb form, keen function, and pure stainless-steel. The Shallot features a Sandvick 13C26 recuve blade. The unique recurve blade design provides for low mass and high performance while 13C26 steel offers excellent hardness, corrosion and wear resistance. This high-carbon chromium steel provides for a high quality blade ideal for a wide range of both everyday and extraordinary tasks. The new Shallot is available with a smooth blade and a partially serrated blade.
This exceptional blade is partnered with a sleek stainless-steel handle designed for a sure, ergonomic grip. The handle is built of 410 stainless-steel - hardened and tempered to provide maximum strength. For safety, there's a convenient frame lock to secure the blade in position until you chose to release it. Both blade and handle are polished to a steely matte-gray finish. Or, if you prefer the dark, choose the Black Shallot, with a smooth or partially serrated blade featuring a Tungsten DLC (diamond like carbon) coating.
The new Shallot features our SpeedSafe® assisted opening system with ambidextrous index-finger opening. Just pull back on the blade protrusion with the index finger of either the left or right hand. The SpeedSafe® system then moves the blade out of the handle and smoothly and easily into position, ready for use.
The Shallot is a pocket-perfect 4-3/8 inches closed and weighs just 4.2 ounces. It is made in the USA and built to uphold Kershaw's high standards of quality and performance. Like the tasty shallot it's named for, the new Kershaw Shallot is sure to mke your mouth water for more.
