GG&G Shotgun Sling Attachments GG&G has a history of making accessories for tactical weapons including shotguns and military rifles. Some of our most popular items have a simple appearance but are engineered to create a tactical advantage in an adverse situation. Two products that stand out are our front sling attachments for the Mossberg 590 slings and Remington 870 shotgun sling.
We developed and designed front mounts for the Mossberg 590 sling and Remington 870 sling for several important reasons. First of all, current tactical applications for utilizing a sling on shoulder mounted combat weapons requires mounting said sling to the side of the combat shotgun. This aids in satisfying one of the critical factors in this equation, the ability to make a smooth, rapid and safe transition to the service sidearm.
In addition, experience has demonstrated that the use of sling clamps that go around both the barrel and magazine extension tube of a fighting shotgun will spread the barrel and tube by varying amounts, depending upon how much tension is applied to the clamps retaining screw. As this is difficult to gauge, the gun's zero will change every time the clamp is removed for maintenance and then reinstalled.
The GG&G Shotgun Front Sling Attachments prevent this from happening and we make Mossberg 590 and Remington 870 sling mounts. The Remington 870 sling mount will also fit the Remington 1100 and 1187 shotguns, both sling attachments are fully ambidextrous. Many competing products are manufactured from insubstantial stamped sheet metal and have rather sharp edges that not only can cut the sling, but can cut the operator as well. The Remington 870 sling swivels are machined in our facility from AS-35 Geneva steel. Of exceptionally high quality, this famous Swiss steel features molecular structure with elongated grains for added toughness. The corners have been rounded and dehorned for the operator's safety. A ball bearing detent on the Sling Attachment helps secure the unit behind the magazine tubes end cap. Both versions are manganese phosphated matte black per mil-spec.
