The G2S is made with the same tool steel as the SSA and the sears are also wire edm'ed. The main differences with the SSA are a different way of holding the hammer pin in, different pins, no laser marking and only spot MP check. Visually, from the outside of the gun there is no difference from the SSA and the feel and reliability is the same
The Geissele 2 Stage (G2S) trigger is a

Drawing on Geissele Automatics’ many years of
trigger design and manufacturing experience, the
design of the G2S has been optimized to take
advantage of advanced manufacturing methods to
reduce the cost of the trigger while maintaining the
outstanding performance features that are
characteristic of Geissele triggers.
The G2S is manufactured from triple-alloy steel that
is fully through-hardened for superior strength and
durability. The sear surfaces are cut with production
processes that rival EDM-cut surfaces for accuracy
and smoothness to produce a trigger with a feel and
crispness that rivals Geissele Automatics’ best-selling
Super Semi-Automatic trigger.
The G2S hammers use a hammer pin retention
method that eliminates the need for intricate
machining and subassembly operations without
sacrificing the durability and pin retention strength of
more complicated methods.
The G2S trigger is protected from corrosion and other
environmental elements by a Mil-Spec black oxide
coating system.
The G2S rivals the outstanding performance of the
Geissele Super Semi-Automatic trigger with a smooth
first-stage take-up and a crisp second-stage break.
The first-stage pull weight of the G2S is
approximately 2.5 lbs and second-stage weight
is approximately 2.0 lbs to give a total trigger pull
weight of approximately 4.5 lbs.
The smooth first stage and crisp second stage
enables the operator to maximize accuracy while the
G2S’s short reset distance enables the operator to
maintain this accuracy at high rates of fire. The
two-stage design allows the G2S to deliver both
slow-fire and rapid-fire accuracy while retaining the
safety and robustness of a two-stage trigger design.
